Day 1 - 2, Zululand, Mkuzi Game Reserve
From Johannesburg head for the remote and scenic reserves of Zululandin northern KwaZulu Natal. Our first game drive is in Mkuzi Game Reserve on the search for the endangered black rhino and many other species, and we wait at a hide overlooking one of the waterholes to watch the game come down to drink. We take an informative guided walk through a local village for an authentic Zulu cultural experience.

Day 3 - 5, KosiBay
Kosi Bay Nature Reserve covers an area of sweeping beaches, great fertile estuaries, mangrove forests and lakes which we explore by boat and foot. We also visit the Kosi Bay Rivermouth and snorkel in its crystal clear waters and watch the local fisherman gather their nets in the estuary. Between the months of January and November, it may be possible to glimpse giant leatherback turtles that come on to these beaches to lay their eggs.

Day 6, Swaziland, Hlane Game Reserve
In the tiny Kingdomof Swaziland we camp in the Hlane Game Reserve that’s owned by the King, and best known for game walks in search of elephant, rhino and the fascinating birdlife.

Day 7 - 11, Maputo, Inhambane, Xai Xai
Goodbye Swaziland, hello Mozambique! The first stop on our journey through this intriguing country is the vibrant capital of Maputo for perhaps a seafood dinner, before heading to the impossibly tropical beaches of Praia de Barra, where you can enjoy the warm Indian Ocean on a number of water activities or by dhow, a traditional white-sailed boat. Our last stop in Mozambiqueis Xai Xai, where we camp beneath cashew nut trees and try a spot of snorkelling along the prisitine reefs, before heading back to South Africa.

Day 12 - 14, Kruger National Park, Johannesburg
It’s big game safari time in the famous Greater Kruger National Park, where we spend two nights camping in the park in pursuit of the Big 5. On the final day of the tour, drive through scenic Mpumalanga back to Johannesburg.
